Now John McCain’s campaign is getting some Web love without having to try very hard. AdAge reports that views of Sarah Palin’s Saturday Night Live appearance will eclipse the amount of TV viewers.
According to the article, election-related SNL clips have been viewed more than 45 million times since the show’s season premiere on Sept. 13. Hello, viral ad cash:
“Online video streams and Nielsen ratings aren’t comparable — the Nielsen viewers are unique; streams aren’t. But the point is that the online clip will ultimately expose “SNL” to a lot more viewers than TV alone. And with pre-roll advertising running on NBC.com and Hulu.com, it is also adding revenue.”
