When is the best time/day to post on Facebook?
It’s a popular question for marketers. Of course you’re going to want to know if there are certain days and times of day where people are more likely to like, comment, or share your Facebook post.
Unfortunately, I would argue that business-related Facebook posts are not created equal. Generally speaking, photos perform the best, getting a way larger percentage of shares than text, video, or link posts.
The trouble with that notion is that most Facebook posts are a combination of at least three of those elements. In my own experience, however, I can also confirm the statement about images, and I think most marketers will agree.
The thing is: Not all Facebook posts are targeted at the same people, so you have to beware of “general research.” about Facebook or any other social media trend. It may not apply to your industry or audience.
Who’s to say that a post targeted at automotive enthusiasts wouldn’t do better on the weekends while a post targeted towards technology fans wouldn’t do better during the work week?
That’s why this new social media infographic from LinchpinSEO is intriguing. The data for this infographic “analyzed the user engagement of more than 1,800 Facebook pages from the world’s top brands” for the first two months following Facebook moved all brands to Timeline. (April 1 – May 31, 2012)
Does this data ring true with what you know of each audience and industry? When are the best times to post on Facebook? What are the best days to post on Facebook? — from your experience?
