I have been using LinkedIn and Plaxo for a long time. It’s nice to see both sites start to understand the power of connections and external content.
LinkedIn added a new applications platform, so now - with the new WordPress feature - my network is able to see my updates as they’re posted. I can also add a presentation to my connections’ profiles using Google Docs Beta. I also recommend the CompanyBuzz application.
Maybe one day you will see a Spark app so you can do data analytics and virtualization of your own profile to see how it connects internally to LinkedIn and beyond.
This one expresses ideas for repositioning data - and making it more valuable once it’s collected or provided. Something we are constantly doing at Spiral16.
Here is an interesting POV from one of the big ad agencies, Wunderman. I have met many of the people in this video so it’s nice to see the faces again. They could certainly benefit from our Spark platform, because of its versatility and convenience (a data agnostic SaaS).
This makes our software flexible, dynamic and an easy up-sell to agencies that understand the value data can provide for brand and creative briefs and mass intelligence.
It makes sense that many interested parties come from the advertising sector.
Client-facing, data-flexible business intelligence in near-real time will enhance any agency’s marketing.
I had no idea that the technology existed but I’m glad it does. It’s technology innovation tied directly to produce.
The necessary info is tattooed directly on the fruit without having to use the pain-in-the-ass stickers.
We look at all innovations at Spiral16. The ability to track fruit via the tattoo could be Virtualized for the industry. The ability to take that printed data and show how it manifests visually based on the printed data and geographical distribution could be very exciting.
Thanks to for the Food Network for the program. Love this stuff.
Last week I had Jae and Deric in Seattle so we could find some office space.
It was a great trip and I think we have a good angle on a few spaces. No, the Giant Clam reference has nothing to do with the office hunt, it has to do with what is now a tradition when we get visitors in the PNW. A trip to Wasabi Bistro in Belltown.
As soon as we sit down Jae orders the giant clam and they deliver, I didn’t try it. A few days after, on Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmerman takes a dive and pulls up a giant clam.
Every now and then, I (we) will be posting commercials and media that we think fits us as a company or what we like outside our industry.
This Dyson commercial is one I like. Simple idea that solves a solution, complex thinking to make it happen. It’s innovative, it’s smart design and they present the solution by expressing the technology behind it in a small package.
This was an experiment for me to find visuals that already exist that have relevance to S16 and Spark.
What I didn’t know at the time is that the music is relevant to what we are doing and why we are called Spiral16. I didn’t make the connection until I was digging deeper into the music and Fibonacci numbers.
The music (just 25 seconds of it) is Tool’s song Lateralus. Here is a little more from Wikipedia:
The band puts an emphasis on the sound of their songs and attempts to reduce the effect lyrics can have on the perception of songs by not releasing song lyrics with any album. Lyrical arrangements are often given special attention, such as in “Lateralus”. The number of syllables per line in the lyrics to “Lateralus” correspond to an arrangement of the Fibonacci numbers and in “Jambi” the metrical foot iamb is used.
So, it’s not going to show up on Unexplained Mysteries or Believe It Or Not it’s one of those strange things that helped me find a hidden connection.
Our blog won't bore you. It's not something we have to make us look better than our competitors. It's about sharing who we are as a company... and behind every great company, there are stories to tell.
We know it's the talented people who make up Spiral 16 that make our company special.
So this is where you'll read about us, our product and some of the insane things we do that help us achieve excellence by the end of the work day.
